MY APPROACH
I believe in the inherent worthiness of all human beings. I believe that prolonged stress, trauma, and adversity disconnects us from our innate wisdom. Psychotherapy & embodiment work becomes a space for remembering ourselves home and finding what’s true and most authentic to us.
Through curiosity and compassion, I hope to help my clients befriend their nervous systems to build internal safety as a base for deeper self-work and inquiry. Non-judgment is at the heart of my practice, as I strongly believe that we can’t fight ourselves out of deeply held beliefs, but rather we can learn to gently observe and tend to our wounded parts from a place of love and care. I aspire to help my clients build capacity for discomfort so that they are able to experience more freedom, play, and pleasure in a world that tricks us into believing we don’t deserve these birth rights.
I work with the misfits, the ones who have been told they are ‘too much’ for this world, the ones who feel deeply but were not given permission to be themselves. To be our most authentic self is the biggest form of resistance, and I am on this journey with you.
As a Jungian enthusiast and a lover of the unconscious, I am in constant awe and wonder of the human potential for self discovery and self growth. My ability to do my own work has underpinned my ability to do the work I do.
I am all about living my truth aligned with my values, building and nurturing self IN community, and reconnecting with our inner wisdom and our true nature.
As one of my teachers says, “Rest is resistance, joy is revolution”.
I am grateful to black activists and black liberation movements reclaiming rest as resistance. I strongly believe, especially living in a racialized body, a form of resistance is in reclaiming, listening to, and centering the body. So much that is communicated on a cellular level that we have become alienated from (thanks to colonialism and capitalism) requires peeling off those layers of disconnection, pain, and trauma to come back into relationship with our body. This is a lifelong commitment I have made in my own life as work to be done with myself and as a result be able to guide others in this way too.
